The intake call is more productive when you have some of the following on hand. None of it is required to make first contact.

  • A brief description of the matter and the questions you need answered
  • The types of evidence involved, such as phones, computers, accounts, cellular records, or other digital materials
  • Relevant deadlines, including hearing dates, discovery cutoffs, or trial dates
  • Whether you have already retained another expert, and what work has been completed
  • Any opposing-expert disclosures or reports already produced
